Bachelor Program (English Medium)

BSc in Business Management:

The Global Institute of Management & Economics (GIME) at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) offers a BSc in BM (Business Management) based on teaching and research, complemented with practical application of learning during an internship.

This program will enable students to understand how firms become and remain international in scope. They will learn to apply management theories and techniques in an developing multinational business environment.

Students are provided with a variety of activities on and off campus, and 24/7 emergency services. GIME arranges internship opportunities, workshops and enterprise visits for our students. The companies combine both local organizations and multinational corporations. Students can participate in and experience organizational culture within Chinese business environment.

Double Degree Program

Leading to the Award of BSc. (Hons) Business Studies (UK) - Business Management (China)

After three years of study in DUFE, students can choose to continue their study in DUFE or in Ulster University in the UK for one year’s further study. If our students pass all the courses and meet both institutions’ graduation requirements, students can be awarded a bachelor degree from both DUFE and Ulster University, and have gained the study experience both in China and Europe.

BSc in Tourism Management

Tourism is a growth industry and is able to provide significant economic contribution to the society. UNWTO forecasts 1.6 billion international arrivals by 2020 with the receipts of 2 trillion USD. To cater this big trend, DUFE offers Bachelor program in tourism management. The aim of this program is to enhance the theoretical and practical abilities of the students, enabling them to work professionally in the tourism and hospitality industry. In this program, students will not only take the courses in the tourism and management areas, but they can also have a strong industry experience.

GIME arranges full-time paid internship opportunities for our senior students in this program. The companies combine both local organizations and multinational corporations. Students can participate in and experience organizational culture within Chinese business environment.

For our Tourism Management program specifically, students who study in the program have an opportunity to complete their internships in world famous hotel & resort corporations in Dalian, including Kempinski Hotel, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hilton Hotel and Castle Hotel attached to Marriott Group.

Course Length: 4 year (3 years in DUFE and 1 year in Ulster University for Double Degree Program students)

Age Requirement: 18 years old and above

Academic Entry Requirement:

Successful completion of a senior high school degree with good grades and full transcripts.

English Language Entry Requirement:

IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in all subskills) or equivalent.

Applicants with IELTS 5.0 or below can enroll on Foundation courses prior to commencing their studies (Entry test is required by Ulster University before entering the last year's study in the UK for Double Degree Program students.)

Tuition Fee: 35,000 RMB (5,400 USD approx.) for one academic year in DUFE;

13,420 GBP for one year of study in Ulster University (ONLY for Double Degree Program).

Master's Program (English Medium)

In recent years, DUFE has launched programs fully delivered in English for master level: International Business Management, International Trade, Financial Management, Tourism Management, etc. are popular majors for international students.

Course Length: 2.5 years

Application Fee: 1000RMB

Tuition Fee: 35,000 RMB / year

Admission Requirements:

1. Academic background: Successful completion of an undergraduate degree with good grades;

2. Language proficiency: Native speaker or IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 72.

3. Recommended by two professors or associate professors.

Application Materials:

1. Complete the online application form;

2. Copies of diplomas and certificates and official transcripts;

3. Certificate of IELTS or TOEFL iBT;

4. Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors;

5. Study plan;

6. Copy of passport.

Master of International Business Management

MSc of International Business Management is based on teaching and research, complemented with practical application of learning during an internship. MSc in IBM was designed especially for international students who are interested in corporate management or international trade where business interaction with China is involved.

In the first academic year students will take a number of compulsory modules that help develop their understanding of management and organization. In the second year the program requires students to develop their research techniques through specifically designed projects and encourages students to obtain practical skills through internships.

Internship and Career Development

DUFE has signed agreements with dozens of enterprises in Dalian to offer internships and work opportunities for our students.Students can be employed a full time employee in one of these companies after graduation.

Master of International Trade

Master of International Trade program dedicates to provide an international study environment and foster world-class economics and trade elites with an international vision. This program provides overseas students with two and a half years of analytical training focused on theories and practical skills of the international trade. It also provides students with a platform to develop the critical thinking skills and knowledge necessary to become experts at analyzing international markets, international business negotiation, promotion and implementation of import and export, and international economic cooperation.

After graduation, graduates from DUFE will be able to work in various areas such as multinational corporations, financial institutions, government agencies and academic organizations.

Main courses: International Trade Theory and Policy, China's Foreigh Trade, Practice of International Trade, China's foreign-related Economic Laws and Regulations, Operation Analysis of International Corporation, Contemporary China,etc.

Master of Financial Management

Master of Financial Management Program is designed to develop intellectuals who can master comprehensive financial management theories and also possess practical skills in the field. With the training of this program, talents will acquire the competence and international awareness needed to carry on their ventures in financial management after graduation.

Students are required to build up a solid theoretical foundation in financial management and other relevant subject areas. The program also emphasizes the importance of being aware of the domestic and international status in this field as well as the future developing trends.

Our graduates pursue their careers in government, international enterprises, banking business, securities and investment. Many choose to proceed to further study in relevant areas as well.

Master of Tourism Management

Master of Tourism Management program aims to train senior managers in tourism enterprises and scientific researchers in research institutes. This program also focuses on shaping students’ ability of solving problem and logical thinking ability. This program has three research directions including tourism business management, social and cultural tourism and tourism planning and development.

Students take part in an interesting combination of English taught courses, independent research and study visits, allowing students to utilize the advantages of the tight connection with many international companies. With our assistances and arrangement, students will have an opportunity to complete their internships in world famous hotel & resort corporations in Dalian.

After graduation, students may be engaged in management departments in tourism enterprises, state administrative departments, tourism universities or colleges and tourism research institutions.
